It's not optimism. Just imagination, and a reluctance to think that how things are is no excuse to not try and make them what they could be. Little has been tried, so I don't like indulging notion that not much is possible. Anytime anyone flocks to something there's a mass appeal that can generate serious revenue. Maybe linking to those things more creatively can help monetize deeper news efforts? We don't need new journalism models. We need new business models for journalism.
