Different states have different made up fees. Start asking for it. So in my city we pay tax 2 times for food like at dunkins of any cafe fast food restaurant. A state tax fee and a local tax fee and if you can a can of aluminum you get a fee its just so small that people are not aware because we went to nahh i dont need the receipt

Some of these might be normal but in todays age shit i never remember seeing 2 tax fees on food that made me think 🤔

Interesting!

I always keep the receipts, and I noticed how the tax was different in different cities, so I looked it up. Seemed like the State has one tax, and then each city has another tax. They're usually just written on there together, however. If we get hot food in a grocery store, they take restaurant tax for the heated food, and nothing on groceries, and then sales tax on other items.

Oh yeah, they have those bottle fees I guess too. I know for sure CA has that.

I wonder if they've started splitting them up more, so you can see which part is state or city 🤔

Ya im down to like 2 food places i get food now but that is slowly stopping. 6.5% tax for food in Massachusetts. Some bodegas even have a sign. I guess it went up and thats why they have signs.
