It’s all about choice IMO. All else held equal, I will choose the client that collects as little data as possible and respects its users’ privacy (and in return I’ll provide the devs as much feedback as I can).

I’m curious though, how much anonymity is gained by masking the IP when other device-fingerprinting functionality exists? (This is a bit beyond my technical understanding so if it simply “doesn’t work that way” then that’s cool too 😉)
