it's in neutral, in the middle? also that stick is marked with a 6 speed transmission, it's a fancy sports car with slow, faster, fast, screaming, and HOLY SHIT, and reverse, of course.

in australia they say "manual" and "auto" or "automatic", and yes, transmission is elided but implied.
