Yo! I just bought a pixel 8a. Most everything is good except banking apps. Amusingly, Bitcoin wallets work flawlessly lol

absolutely hilarious lockout

Yes, are you running google play sandboxes or trying fdroid or aurora?

Fdroid and aurora for the main user account. I made another account with Google play services sandboxed for using apps like Google maps and Uber and also to figure out what banking apps are working. I made a throw away account for the play store

Yes! Why did you make separate accounts? For security or to help control yourself, or ?

I don't want Google play services running, sandboxed or not, on my primary user profile. In the event I need it, Uber, better mapping, bank app that actually works, etc. I will pull up other profile for the few apps that I use which rely on Google play services. It's mostly to help minimize my reliance on Google play services which I've been trying to get away from for a while now. It truly is inescapable, but I want to be able to choose when and where they have access to my data and do my best to minimize data that is shared across apps

Graphene also really makes me want to be less reliant on apps in general. Even for Uber eats, I just pulled up the website on my computer and ordered from there today. It's so clean and minimal and I want to keep it that way. On my old phone I had so many apps that I rarely even used, I never want that level of clutter again, so separating the user profiles helps me keep things better organized as well

TOTALLY
