People of Nostr and Podcasting 2.0 may not understand why I get so fired up about decentralized music as opposed to showing musicians a platform where they can upload their tracks with a couple clicks.

"Ignorance: the root and stem of all evil."

You really want to set the musicians you love up with a new master to enslave them and someday rugpull their funds? It goes against the whole Bitcoin ethos.

Self-custody your art as well as your funds.

When I buy merch from an artist or send sats to a song I love, it better be straight to them: peer to peer. Musicians in control of their RSS feed who also run a node get it -- and there's a ton of them out there. If they use a lightning wallet, FINE as long as I see its address in the feed so I know my sats are going to them.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is worth learning. And it's so SIMPLE, the word is in the name! The more people handhacking feeds, the more innovation we'll get to see and enjoy -- and there's already so much exciting stuff happening like Homegrown Hits' DeMu VIDEO shows and The Satellite Skirmish. Thanks, RSS. Join this peaceful revolution!

Oh, and there are tools to help you like MusicSideProject.com or SovereignFeeds.com

This is what PC 2.0 can do.

I am looking forward to how nostr:nprofile1qqsd0kqsnmjrv47wvpt2mfr9xqrthdjp7v09p6zjgd5pcfey2puprmqpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqfrwaehxw309aex2mrp0ykhvetjd9nxjety9ejx2umrdphk7mrfdenjuatnqyt8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnwdahkuetn9e3k7mg0jpfq2 v2 will help artists get paid directly by their fans for their content, all via lightning and nostr of course! Just gotta keep building... 🛠️

On FF, artsts get paid via one-time paywall?

Yes, artists can sell content like the good old days of iTunes, but it's via lightning. The purchase is stored in your nostr DM inbox so you'll always have the content unlocked with your nostr identity.

Keep in mind this is what we are working on. Fanfares.io currently allows paywalling of audio but it only works with Alby. It's kind of a proof of concept, and will be greatly improved on our next release.
