Apart from the point about ethics near the end, there's also the general point about identities in systems. But admittedly that stuff is only *related* to the fallacy. I guess the essay is more trying to point out something (the mental pattern) and its causes than trying to draw conclusions.

Heck a lot of my tech writing has no conclusion, either 😄
