There has been a huge antagonistic shift in that direction, at least here in the Bay Area, motivated by Elon's purchase of Twitter. It has been pretty disappointing.

I've been pretty lucky to have invested most of my networking and interests in places that are not corporate tech, but had I not I could easily imagine myself getting pretty disillusioned.
