Their payout ratio was not set by a book keeper but directly reflected the total amount of money people bet on each team. So if the amount on Team A was 100% higher than on Team B and A loses, the bettors on Team B would make 200% minus a fee.

Because of this, betting against the popular teams was much more profitable than on regular betting sites. It was glorious and really fun.
