"The work 'The hand of God' came up when I was in a very dark place, with very little hope and, there, I knelt down, said a prayer and asked God to get me out of this place. I felt, then, that God extended his hand, taking me out of that dark place. That hand [in the work, immersed in water] is my hand, which God is redeeming from this place. God gave me hope and a new life expectancy. Since then I have returned to painting and doing my work. Therefore, it is an autobiographical work."
The Hand of God by Eduardo Kobra in São Paulo, 2020.
