Does nobody answer a goddamned phone or call people back anymore? I have about 5 things I need done that are pending just talking to a HUMAN. I have had more luck driving across town to darken a doorstep than I have just waiting on timely responses.

If you’re talking about friends and family, yeah it’s weird. If you’re talking about business and service, it’s too expensive for them thanks to fiat.
I do rarely, for our cottage industry. We need to not be disturbed by many time-wasters who never think about us being the only ones making this thing go (or not). Texting is best. But, in a big business, I do get mad if they don’t have a human on customer service calls.
