Ah the qrcode is a bolt12 to start, you have to click the button to get a bolt11. The tipjar was created to test bolt12 but not many wallets support that :P
sounds like a problem with your phone or blue wallet. The links on the app are just lightning invoices. The app switching is handled by iOS
