One of my life long professional mentors coming out of the Navy was USCG retired. Still friends today. Lives in FL now but originally from Ohio.

I actually loved boot camp. It was savage. My CC would run us every Sunday until everyone fell out, and he’d be running backwards smoking a cigar yelling slurs at us the whole time like it was nothing.
There was no chance in hell I was letting him down or showing weakness
