As someone who has never actively used social media until Nostr came along, I'm very curious and I have to ask: was Twitter really that bad?! 👀🤔 And were other centralized social media platforms like IG, TikTok etc. just as terrible?

It was bad. But IG and TikTok even worse.

No wonder why the youth are so fucked up. So terrified of sharing differing opinions... and don't even get me started on this whole transgender issue. 😮💨
The algorithm are manipulating the audience to get addicted, wrong incentives, creating outrage and is full of fake news and bots who tries to enforce different political and cultural narratives.
Theres value there but its drowning in a sea of noise.
👀👀👀 I'm glad I had enough discipline to ignore it, all this time! Sounds terrible! It's alright, though. It seems pretty clear that those platforms are edging closer to extinction.
