What if USDT is the marijuana (gateway drug) that leads to bitcoin. Yes if you’re already a bitcoiner why the fuck do we want USDT? You don’t. BUT most of the world is not into Bitcoin or “cRyPtO” but USD for most of the world is already seen as superior to their own government fiat currency. So it’s an easy sell to USDT over other shit currency. Then from USDT you might dabble it bitcoin and go down the rabbit hole. Or maybe it’s just a shitcoin I don’t know. 🤷♂️

This is what I was thinking too. Since adoption of Bitcoin leads to NGU and decentralization of money, USDT can propel adoption much faster as USDT users don’t need to manually convert their funds to Bitcoin & bitcoiners don’t need to manually convert to USDT.
Atomic swaps will automatically happen after they authorize the invoice transaction payment via QR code or any other method possible.

People in south America are using dollars on shitcoin rails. Imagine they use dollars on Bitcoin rails the same way and just start holding lightning wrapped up as USD. Game changer.

I think the only benefit for bitcoiner already in the space is to arbitrage or trade small amounts without having to go through a centralized exchange.
