OK, so it really was a young queen leaving her native hive to build her own? Or did the queen cups drive the reigning queen out? What‘s your opinion on that?

It was the existing queen that made the swarm. As I was scooping bees from the tree and into a hive box, I spotted her yellow mark. I’ve been warned that the 8 frame hives will run out of space sooner.

Btw, if you set up a lightning wallet & connect your #nostr profile to it, you can get zapped ⚡️ in addition to have „likes“ (🤙🏻) on your notes.
