Fatherhood requires all battery types.

People talk about the cost of diapers…. No one talks about batteries.

get yourself one of these bad boys if you don't already. https://www.amazon.com/Ontel-Battery-Organizer-Storage-Tester/dp/B089F9YDFC

Def already have one. Lol

That tester saves me some good batteries from time to time.

no not those big ones, the other ones. Why would you only bring SIX‽

Lol…

I have cheaper ones for shit he forgets to turn off. Better ones for better gadgets, etc.

Way too deep into the battery life man.

part of our “costco gift box” from the in laws is double & triple A. Are you powering thomas trains yet? Those puppys move and as very quiet

Costco bulk are my cheaper ones.

👍👍👍👍⚡⚡⚡⚡

I’m not a mother yet but I did notice that my niece and nephew are always asking their dad for all types of batteries for their toys.

Def a thing. My battery usage has gone up 1000% in the past 2 years

My wife got me a Battery Daddy battery caddie for Christmas a few years ago. Life changing.

I never understood why those batteries are so expensive

Working on the next iteration of battery usage in my home, after my current 100 packs of alkalines die, I will be going lithium rechargeable. Already got the tip from another dad to make a spreadsheet to track where the rechargeables are deployed.

+100 dad points for competing that upgrade I'm told. No idea which skill tree to deploy them into yet. Heating with miners solved the need for any points in "who touched the thermostat" so I'm due to completely respec my character.

Gold! 🤣🤣🫂🫂

It´s inmportant to use lithium batterys and not Ni-Hm because they won´t work with the most smarthome devices for example

I refurbish old dry cells as a side hustle, if you have any laying around /jk

Stick to eneloop batteries. They have less idle drain than others by an extremely wide margin. Most rechargeables will kill themselves in a few months, even if they aren't plugged into something.

Eneloops are NiMh batteries. The best NiMh will still self discharge far faster than any lithium I've ever seen.

EBL sells lithium aa and aaa lithium cells regulated down to 1.5v that I've got my eye on.

Good to know!

I just realized I can print serial number wrap labels with my label maker. Definitely going to put serials on my rechargeables.

That will allow me to track charge cycles on individual cells in the spreadsheet!
