What’s the best way to discover #v2v music in the year 2025 ?

Any apps have proper filters?

I’d love ability to generate a playlist of least played on v4v excluding tracks that I heard already.

Would be also great to exclude by genre/keyword

What's v2v music?

Mmm wrong digit.. v4v - value4value

Nostr is too fragmented right now. There are people using wavlake and fountain, plus there's me using hashtags like #music and #tunestr and there's no good way to search across all those.

We could have used NIP-54 wikis to index music in accordance with agreed-on data entry standards, but as soon as I started trying to organize and plan for that, fiatjaf responded by breaking the NIP-54 wikis with asciidoc

That is cool 😎 i have this problem where I’m allergic to 5chord songs, autotune and AI slop.. I listen to pretty much all genres but songs HAVE to actually be authentic in some way. So I had a pretty good experience on wavlake for the last ~year but now I can’t find any new good tracks that aren’t on my playlist yet.. my main playlist must have nearly 100songs now. I remember hearing on some pod last winter(maybe first ep. Of wavlake podcast) that they had 5000+ songs up there. So my math sais that there have to be some thousands of songs that are virtually undiscoverable without a direct link…

It’s gotten better. nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 has added music as well.

I try for a bit but it tends to shut off after playing one song 🤷🏼‍♀️ quite a problem if I’m cycling or boarding 😁 I also don’t think playlist exist there. Anyways I’m sure it’s either gonna improve to actually be usable in a few years or a better product is gonna appear :) I’ll check out new wavlake in the next days and will let you know what I like best :)

Meanwhile greetings from my playlist!

I don’t think I can share entire list 🤔

https://wavlake.com/playlist/465dad64-aada-4623-a662-d2bd7bcfb092 i can share smaller ones but not the whole like list

Allergy to AI slop is not a problem!

Make songs longer again 🤗

I have a playlist for that. It’s not very long. 🤪

Lest gooo ! Will start my day with this tomorrow:)

Awesome!

Your playlist is working about halfway for me :))

Nice!

https://fountain.fm/playlist/p0lPUsK2t0QN6XNUEwJS did u make this list on fountain and the other on wavlake ?

Yes, I have a lot of them but not nearly enough

But the lists from one platform can’t be viewed on the other ?

Seriously though, nostr:npub1l3ttqul8rfcvrwxy8s3plneyg0lx2yp0ljn8t6mzhhtrewfluxtqp8t0zv is releasing a 45-minute song next week!

LNBeats.com is the best v4v music app because it's the only one that's ACTUALLY value-for-value (no cuts taken from artists' earnings, just an awesome dev nostr:nprofile1qqszxyp33y6kea7ghsymhz6rrlp7w859tqkg7a2mnmskqgpunsv7gqcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs04cxjt who asks for value returned when value is received) and it catalogs ALL music published to RSS feeds (available from the Podcast Index) whereas Wavlake features exclusively Wavlake-custodied artists. Download it as a PWA on your phone, you won't regret it.

Click on "DeMu" next to the search bar to weed out everything posted to WL (which is 90% of the songs out there) and have fun exploring! Decentralized music is full of manmade wonders. 💜

LNBeats also has a page for music shows which is a great way to discover songs you might not have heard yet. Some even play EXCLUSIVELY DeMu. 🤭

No genre filters at the moment, but anything is possible. You CAN make playlists!

Thank you! Though I don’t have a problem of platform taking a cut. Also I don’t judge music ideologically. It sounds good or it doesn’t

Anyways I heard the criticism of wl on bowl after bowl clip. Is it summarized anywhere in text?

Here's some text about it: https://musicsideproject.com/about

Ideology aside, if you're looking for least-played music, that DeMu section will likely be it. Tons of objectively good, well-produced albums in there, like this one:

Thanks a ton! I’m gonna come straight to you with my future questions, you guys sounded very passionate about independence of artists on the pod 🤗
