The Bitcoin network has just surpassed the historic milestone of 1 Zeta Hash.

1 ZH/s (one zeta hash) is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (one sextillion) hashes per second.

This is the number of times per second that all miners combined try to solve the proof of work.

My bitaxe is weeping lol

Wow...

Source? This doesnโ€™t even seem remotely possible. I donโ€™t believe that monthly range (12/3-1/3) is anywhere above 850eH

Hashrateindex.com showing well below this so Iโ€™d say this is misinformation

Ah I see, but that is an estimate for an individual block. Most miners will use the 7 day average to smooth out the volatility of vastly ranging hash rate estimates. Iโ€™ll be impressed when the 7 day average hits the 1 ZH/s threshold. Thanks for the link.

It's fake news propagated by one jackass who used a 1 trailing block hashrate estimate which is absurd.

Thatโ€™s what I figured. Thanks for confirming

Fade that

My bity is screeching

i am happy to be a pary of this

I love how we can all fact check this using our own independent verification methods.

Holy sheeeeesh!

wow

Security has never been higher

Literally sexy

mind boggling

This is a massive milestone for #bitcoin. Expanding hash rate is sign of vitality for the most trusted, decentralized, global monetary network

That is a number with 21 zeros... coincidence? Probably.

Hash rate is our immune system! Thank you to all workers out there ๐Ÿงก
