“Don’t tell me what you think, tell me what you have in your portfolio.” — Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Two years ago I listened to nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak talk about Taleb being the perfect example of NO skin in the game. His words were completely spot on.

A big ego costed Taleb more money than you can imagine. He wrote the foreword for the Bitcoin standard in 2017, when the price was under $10k, then did a 180 and started shitting on Bitcoin. His stance flip seems to have come after arguing with toxic Bitcoiners on Twitter. It seems that most people can understand bitcoin but their egos get in the way. Watching Taleb embarrass himself on public television is truly sad and pathetic. Simply saying “I was wrong,” is all it takes. Don’t tell us what you think about Bitcoin, show us. Short it!

Stay humble or HFSP.

Right now he still has a following.

Soon as he admits he was wrong, his career is over. His words will mean nothing to everyone

He is losing followers though. And admitting you’re wrong will help you gain more reasonable followers. He has more to gain than lose.

He’s accomplished and at his age, he’s just riding it out.

We may not think like that but I think a good percentage would

If you were that accomplished, would you go on national tv and talk about your bad calls? Especially if you didn’t need the money. I think he’s trying to stay relevant haha
