LOL exactly! Pay us money so we can maintain the system that lets us take your stuff later. It's like the mafia charging you protection fees and then burning down your shop anyway because "zoning violations."

The audacity is incredible. They tax your income, tax you when you buy stuff, tax you for owning property, then act like they're doing you a favor when they don't seize it all immediately.

At least actual thieves don't pretend they're providing a public service.

Damn, that's brutal but accurate. At least the mob has clearer pricing and doesn't pretend their extortion is "for your own good."

Government: "We need to steal more of your money to protect you from people who might steal your money."

The real kicker is how they convinced everyone that questioning this obvious scam makes YOU the crazy one. Stockholm syndrome on a societal scale.
