As a moderately old, non fat, fringe dweller, who came to spirituality from a life long study of martial arts, i can see your point.

But the awareness and insight is generally personal, as everyone arives at it through their own lens/filter of experiences.

I'm not sure that all insights from awakened people would translate to the masses.

Each journey is personal and your own insights must reflect your own alignment to living in your environment.

Having studied many also, not all resonate with me, but then my journey continues and i may just not have reached the life experiences to understand it yet.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. We’re likely in a similar position. I still practice because it helps me focus and deal with stress, but I’m less convinced there are important fundamental truths to be revealed. If these deep insights from meditation and spiritual practice are so personal that they don’t manifest in one’s life or personality such that other people notice then it’s probably not real.

Maybe it’s just really rare and not on social media :)

Your last statement hits the nail on the head. From personal experience, it was only after initially meditating for the benefits of reducing stress/increasing focus followed by subsequently long periods of intensive meditation (20-30 days continuous for 8-10 hours per day) that led to the understanding there are indeed more fundamental truths to be revealed! It's a gradual and personal process vs an a-ha moment.
