What is the point of paying for a VPN at this point?

Seems like more and more sites and services are blocking access.

I tried Mullvad for a few months and it worked fine but who am I really protecting my privacy from?

Because it's not my ISP's or anyone else's business that I happen to be running a Bitcoin node. Or doing anything else online.

Great point. Not in a position to run a node yet but when I am I would certainly use Mullvad again.

That's the main reason why I use proton VPN on my PC. I have one browser that's routed around the VPN for things like prime video that block VPNs.

I'm just hedging for a possible future tail risk where it becomes the case that you don't want to get caught running a bitcoin node at home.

So do you run a vpn on your router?

Not anymore I've just been using the router the ISP gave me.

Prime video blocks VPNs so my fire TV wouldn't work if I had a VPN on my whole home Internet.
