Not having the tech to mine more gold isn’t real scarcity, it’s just a temporary limitation. the gold is still out there. it’s just sitting in places we can’t reach yet. that’s not finite, that’s delayed extraction. true scarcity means unreachable forever, like bitcoin’s hard cap.

I’ve thought about this from the “mine the asteroids for gold” perspective. They’ll probably do it slowly, just like printing money. Inflation of gold not noticeable to the average person. Probably keep it around the 1-3% where it currently sits. It’s not much different than the Fed. Maybe a bit more transparent.

Nobody would ever just announce “we found a bunch of gold” cause the market would tank before they sold it.

That absolute scarcity makes Bitcoin very special

agreed, but given the advancements in tech, i assume the extraction efforts will dramatically increase.

For sure, and it will happen much quicker than most imagine

💯. Most of the world still believes this is not possible because they have never seen it before. They think we’re naive. The tide will change and then the btc rush is on.

Peter Todd disagrees

😭

I claim the Psyche asteroids. They're mine. I shall pay all debts with paper claims on potions of my giant gold asteroids.
