I've been there for the launch of social networks. I've seen the honeymoon phases and I've experienced the waves. You have slow and steady growth and then face melting weeks at a time. That's what I've seen here over the past month. It's no different than my experiences with Google+ being a day 1 user and watching it's growth over the first two years where I ballooned up to 4 million followers, when Google+ was a larger social network than Twitter.
This isn't all anecdotal though. I am comparing my personal profile growth numbers here along with the analytics we have on nostrplebs.com. I then compare them to things that have triggered waves. It all points to the same results.
That said, I am not a blind Bitcoin Maxi as you suggest. I know the problems with Nostr. I complain about them often. I am a power user. I need my features and I need them to work well. When something doesn't, I talk about it. Most people wouldn't stick around for the bugs or issues or lacking features. Those that stick around see the potential and see the improvements. They know that it's worth it to stick around.
