Because taxes are a way for the Federal Reserve to make a profit on the money it lends to banks, And for the government to justify spending. Federal taxes go to things like the military budget, And state taxes go for things like the fire department or social programs.

Public services should be free for all taxpayers, Like public transportation, Unemployment, Public housing, Public healthcare, Public education. But these resources being free disincentivizes competition, Allowing people to become wards of the state.

In Murray Rothbard’s book, Power and Market, He discusses the idea of a stateless economy, Where there is no separation between the poor, And the central capital, That the government creates the dependence of the government providing these services to people, Instead of the market creating the best version of these services in a private manner.

It is debatable that dependence on public service creates poverty, But it is also debatable that some people are born incapable of competitive participation in the economy. The state both plays a role for public services, And creating a separation of wealth. A stateless economy is only possible for competitive participants.
