I have no need to. However I have been mugged before. My house had been burgled before etc etc.
There are bad people. And there are also good people who do bad things due to circumstances. I'm not naive enough to ignore that.
So you've been mugged and had your house burglarized... despite living in a State? With laws, parliaments, governments, police departments and all? Imagine my shock!
Well it's better than the alternative. And yes the cops did recover some of my property after one incident. Not perfect but at least they did something, it's not like I'm going to go around hunting them down is it?
And how about fires? I suppose we should all just piss them out if we suddenly start? Forest fires? Earthquakes?
Much as I'd love to support the whole idea of Rules Without Rulers it has some limits doesn't it?
What alternative? You said without State people will be knocking each other over the head with wrenches. Then you say in a State, you've been victimized. So what's the difference?
Most common services can be privatized and run by the community. Where I live firefighters are basically volunteers, and traditionally so were the neighbor patrols who policed rural areas.
If you want to hunt someone, after the fact, you can hire a professional bounty hunter or a private detective.
Well without a state it could be worse. I have lived in many countries and believe you me the developed nations are safer. The incidents I refer to happened in South Africa. So thankful I don't live there any more.
That's a function of having less crime because they are richer societies. Not because they have more "state".

You jumped at it not realizing there are many states in the world. Some are pathetic and others do a pretty decent job.
Perhaps you would feel at home with the crazies in Afghanistan/Somalia where the law of the jungle applies. Those countries have no actual functioning governments.
Insightful -- I appreciate these thoughts; yes - it seems by using the tools we have to more effectively communicate and accurately assess our 'collective' will and choice re: priorities for things like fire, police, military, mail, roads, schools, medicine, education, etc --- WE really are in a much better Time and technological/engineering Context --- to cut through a lot of the 'static' or negative influence of 'private interests' on 'public policy' -- WE can obviously use the money we current spend on 'Healthcare' --its the paying off each other thats the problem --HA! -- blockchain makes that shit harder fam --- Let's get it! -- Universal states of 'fair play' --for all --- border less -- FREE -- Together WE are unstoppable.
