I used a local relay running on my phone. Then I just re-broadcasted the event when I came back online.

why is the local relay necessary?
I wonder if nostr clients can be extended to also serve the multi-hop p2p (Bluetooth) communication for protests like FireChat.
Nostr could be the shelling point for many splintered communication apps.
