elaborating on this: in seeking meaning, one seeks a certain reassurance. once a meaning has been found, one feels safety.

but the whole Buddhist thing is that you are offered these philosophical puzzles of increasing difficulty that deconstructs previous lessons. it's a gradual process of dropping various assumptions.

Buddhism draws the line at some core tenets such as Samsara and Nirvana - we don't question these, because if we dismiss these too, that's not Buddhism anymore.
