I did not intend to attack the importance of your profession.
What I meant was that Globe math might work (based on assumptions and post-dictions) and this still doesn't prove that the Globe model is the correct model.
I am not a broadcast engineer and don't know much about the implementation but I am going to take a guess that radio stations would also work on a Flat Earth.
Do you think that engineers who build 50-100 mile long bridges take into account the Earth's curvature? Because they don't.
Do you think that airplane pilots take into account the Earth's curvature when they fly/land? Because they don't.
Do you think that snipers take into account the Earth's spin when they shoot? Because they don't.
It is also very interesting that military equations assume a "stationary, flat, non-rotating Earth".

I only spoke of what ancient people believe because you said we knew of the Earth's sphericity for 2200 years. Obviously what anyone believes doesn't prove one way or another.
Also, what you said "If the Earth were flat, FM stations from Tasmania could be heard routinely and clearly in the Hollywood hills." is not true because mountains and valleys exist and the distance from Tasmania to LA is ~8000 miles.

I don't know for sure whether the Earth is a globe or flat, and let's not fall for false binaries because it's shape could be something else entirely.
However, I am almost certain that the Earth is not a sphere of said proportions.
