So how about a Zello style app over nostr?
Key features of Zello:
* You have DM and group chats
* All messages are audio
* The first message to be received is plaid instantly even when the receiving device was locked
* Further parallel messages get queued for instant playback
* recipient can mute accounts, skip recordings, replay, ...
Obviously audio over nostr isn't feasible yet as most relays block big events but what about compressing audio this way?
Sure, a lot of information is lost with a plain transcript and you would need some voice emulation to distinguish speakers without having to name them all the time but I think this could be a fun app. Also by not having their audio recording on the internet, some people might be more inclined to try it out.
Of course, such an audio client could interact with text only clients, too. #[0]
