Pubky looks promising. I already believed that the Mainline DHT could be the best way of resolving DIDs in a truly decentralized fashion, when I saw this idea a while ago:

That is because they got the idea from our team! They are using PKARR for did:dht in Web5.

But we dont actually think DID itself is needed as a spec.

I use the DID acronym as a generic term sometimes.
