Yea if you never seen black mirror you should they have a whole episode where society lives on the social credit system which is like WoT except that basically rules your life. You get a bad wot you can't get a job, approved for a bank loan, insurance or anything & if you go from 1 star to 0 you get arrested & go to prison.

It would be scary if we lived in a world lile that where everything is based around a simple 5 star rating system?
It’s fucking horrifying. I always found it interesting discussing with Eastern Europeans about neighbours and family members reporting them to authorities. Also got raided by police in China and taken to the station for spending the night on someone’s sofa and getting reported. Having digital systems to fully ring fence freedom behind social scoring according to central authorities is definitely not top of the list of desires for me
In terms of getting raided by police in China, I’d guess not possible to bribe one’s way out with a pack of Marlboro lights any more but still would recommend to non smokers to carry a pack! 🙄
