Most powerful book I’ve ever read was Be Here Now by Ram Dass. Highly recommend, if you haven’t read it ✌️
Discussion
Would you say ram dass is non dual? I find him useful but perhaps I'm not as ready for non dual as I originally thought. Feel very material world lately.
Non dual merges the material world into the spiritual. It is wholesome. The material world need not be renounced. It must be integrated into the spiritual.
The beautiful thing about non-dualism is that it’s completely integrated with any other philosophy or spiritual approach. “And that, too”, meaning that if it exists, it’s part of This.
So materialism and worldly living is an integrated part of a non-dual philosophy or panentheistic universe.
Non-dualism might not be compatible with every religion or scientific philosophy, but every religion and view is compatible with non-dualism.

Yeah I don't think they are incompatible but I do find it difficult to do both at the same time. Perhaps more learning to come on my part.
Ram Dass described moments of feeling free, enlightened, divine, etc., which was exactly when his teacher told him it was time to go back to NYC. To live “in the world” and integrate those lessons.
I always found that beautiful and hilarious.
