It’s relatively easy to be a Buddha meditating alone in the woods. Harder to be a Buddha with a family, a business, and a host of other worldly ties, but all the more commendable.

In my simplified way, I've seen buddhism as an extinguishing of emotion and attachment. For this reason i see it as defective in scope and inferior to Christianity, which focuses on extinguishing inappropriate emotions, enflaming godly ones, and increasing relational attachment beyond what is humanly possible.

Imagine snuggling with the divine Father and feeling true, unconditional love while he whispers in your ear, "i really do love you just the way you are". Meditation on that will get you much farther.

If Christ offers us "living water" so we never thirst again (John 4), Buddha simply offers us greater personal control so we can pretend we're not thirsty in the first place.

That’s fair. Buddhism and Christianity, and all religions, are grokking the same basic truth. Some styles of The Way resonate more than others.
