The word comes from Don Quixote, so shouldn't it be pronounced similar to how chaotic sounds?

Yes and that would make more sense, wouldn't it? If I use that word I want its meaning to be explicit--you're _tilting at windmills_ in a useless enterprise.

You know, it might even be more fun to pronounce it that way--people might think you're only saying chaotic when quixotic says, well, quite a bit more LOL

Sort of like the immature way we used to say "you look dubine today" - they think you said "divine" and blush but you actually said "rather cow-like"
