English Premier League or La Liga matches in Hong Kong? Fifa considers rule changes to overseas games policy
==========
Fifa is considering changes to its policy on league matches being played in other countries. This comes as part of an agreement with football promoter Relevent Sports to dismiss a lawsuit challenging Fifa's stance. The agreement does not affect the suit against the US Soccer Federation. Relevent Sports had planned to host a La Liga match between Barcelona and Girona in Miami in 2018, but Fifa blocked the match. The change in Fifa's stance could potentially allow Hong Kong promoters to bring matches from top leagues to the city's new stadium at Kai Tak Sports Park. Relevent Sports also previously sued the USSF for refusing permission to sanction a league match between two teams from Ecuador. The lawsuit claimed violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act and tortious interference.
