Can anyone help me understand how to quickly and easily do transactions at a farm stand I will be running this summer using sats? I’d like to accept bitcoin or sats as payment but I’m unsure if there is an app or wallet that is best suited to this type of POS transaction. #bitcoin #lightning #plebchain

Most of the transactions I do are with Bitcoiners who are already familiar with the Bitcoin payment process. I have not figured out how to onboard anyone without Bitcoin already in any quick and smooth way. Even when people have cash app it seems like there is always some technical snag for them to buy the Bitcoin then send a transaction.

I use phoenix wallet for lightning transactions and if the price of the item is in dollars I let Phoenix do the conversion to sats when building the invoice. I write pertinent information in the memo on the invoice to keep track of inventory.

I don't have an on chain wallet that I like right now. I was using muun but I would like something with better utxo management and paynym support. I'm thinking samurai might be a good wallet but haven't used it yet. That being said I very seldomly find someone looking to pay on chain for any of my products face to face.

I heard that breez and zues have pos functionality but I haven't had the need for it so I haven't looked into it. Might be worth checking out.

If you have any other questions or want me to elaborate or clarify anything I'm happy to. Earning Bitcoin is the best way to stack hands down from my experience.

I have an Alby wallet linked to Zeus app on my phone so I’ll have to try that and see how it works.

I’d like to be able to accept sats for in person sales for people who are interested in using the bitcoin economy to do business. I also figured it was a good way to stack sats as you mentioned.

Thank you sir I appreciate your help

If you already have Alby linked to Zeus, you’re in great shape. The POS feature is really nice.

ALBY is a good lighting wallet.

I do have an Alby Walker linked to the Zeus app on iPhone. Would that be a good way to transact for in person sales?

The one I'm most familiar with is Wallet of Satoshi, although you'd need to download it using a VPN from somewhere other than the US if you you live in the US. Wallet of Satoshi has a one click point of sale function (pic attached), that allows you to use it for sales easy.

WoS works, it's easy, but I'm sure there are other options. Good luck.

Maybe coinos? https://coinos.io

Looks like a turn key option. Thanks!

I’m probably going to try and set this up too, just in case it’s needed for in person, I don’t want to be fumbling trying to set something up on the spot 😂 Not a good look for attempting to onboard more and more peeps😅😅

I’m not sure if it will onboard anyone who isn’t already familiar but I’m all for alternative economies and if people want to pay for my goods with sats I’m happy to accept them

I was going to recommend VoltPay, but it looks like voltpay.app just redirects to google's home page now... so, nevermind on that.

I use Zeus wallet and Alby to hold my coins. It's fasy and easy. Using just Zeus and holding the coins myself would be nice, but it is poorly documented, so much so that a person who has been using BTC since 2012 isn't comfortable with it.

Zeus is good (node in da phone). It definitely has a pos built into it (I have not used it.).

(But damn anything lightning is confusing for me & yes I’ve been in since 2011.)

Here is a link to Zeus pos documentation page

https://docs.zeusln.app//pos/overview/

Well damn idk why that link doesn’t work?

I was able to get the beta version of Zeus that supports the standalone pos system and although I haven’t used it yet it looks like it will work perfectly for my needs

There appears to be some JS nonsense on that page that doesn't like the double slash in your URL. It loads for me very briefly before giving the 404 error. 🙄
