probably the only practical solution is to not talk to people about sensitive things unless you have met them in person and seen their tech
also, just don't even use any centralised protocol for such communication
even signal and simplex are suspect
other than that, it's basic opsec and sigint - don't send out signals over untrusted networks even if the data is encrypted because the receiver can always leak the data any way they want, by necessity of being able to render the content

i don't publish anything on the internet that i'm concerned about being known, and don't use direct messaging systems that aren't work related anyway. almost all the rest of the channels on all centralized systems are plagued with spam anyway, and scams, and i almost always know a scam when i see one. i've only been caught in one, one time, back in 2021, for my entire life this was the only one, was a shady "vendor" of bitcoin miners.
ultimately, as i see it, i am very unlikely to be a POI for anyone, because i don't hardly talk to anyone and i'm never going to join some movement or any other fucking club that might be someone's enemy, and nobody hardly listens to what i say anyway, and most of those people are just like me. nobodys, who want to have as little to do with the systems of corruption as possible.
being small and humble have huge benefits in that your life doesn't become someone else's strategic interest.
My issue is that I am on lists. I used to be part of groups that are definitely monitored. (I still am, but I used to, too.) I buy guns and related tools, ammo, parts and components, and it isn't hard to ping people that know me and figure out that I am EXTREMELY anti-gubmebt. So... I expect to have issues in the future. I won't make waves, but I am done playing their games.

this is also why i add to my list of countermeasures, to live far away from large populations because its in those places that they are most likely to be operating on the ground. out here, spooks will stand out like a sore thumb and if they are stupid enough to ask about you, pretty much you will be told by one of the locals you are friends with that someone's been asking after you.
i don't want to get caught in the jaws of the metal beast, above all. almost everything else doesn't matter to me. i just want to be free to make a living and tinker with the things i want to tinker with, and even among those things there is so many things i have just shelved basically permanently because they likely would lead to me becoming a POI for wanting some unusual thing that they might think is a hint i'm involved in or connected to one of their targets.
Yup. That's certainly the ideal.
it's not something a lot of people can do, and of those who could but aren't, very few of them have any concern about it because of the "if you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to hide" lie. this one also makes a lot of people who get involved with anything weaker in their opsec and as a result they get caught up in some psycho's machine, in addition to all the ways that these psychos hypnotise and brainwash people into following their direction.
since 2022 i have become aware of all this and i basically abandoned my entire social circle when i realised that only one out of about 20 people i knew were not on the take.
makes things a lot more difficult too because very often to get employment you have to move in closer to these captured circles of people and there is almost always a cypher among them that you have to step carefully around
