Do any of y'all have older family member or friends with chronic wounds? Would you be interested in me putting up videos on using the different dressings and some info on how they work?
I'm an NP and while I'm trained in family my focus has been primarily on geriatrics and wounds for the past 5 years. I'm thinking of spinning up an npub and YouTube channel covering this.
It can be overwhelming sometimes and providers and nurses don't always give patients and families the best information
Thank you for doing that important work. When my mom was in her late 80s/early 90s she had a couple wounds from injuries and while not chronic thank God, they were super intense and definitely needed different treatment than a younger person would have needed.
We were blessed that both the nurses in the hospital and the nurse who came to check on her at home a couple times taught me how to do the dressings effectively 🙏

It is much needed education. Especially as people are aging in place more often as quality care in facilities is on the decline or is exceedingly costly to attain.
