There is that, and followers can be bought. I would lean more towards them all having the same social media manager dabbling in 'just in case it takes off' new platforms.
I suppose what is interesting is could be showing something I think that's been known for a while, that influencers have such a small conversion % of interest. These accounts with millions of followers (perhaps combination of bought, perhaps real, unknown) haven't really made any noticeable wave of new users. Unlike say when that Matt Taibbi guy joined, who is arguably a better influencer lol.
Also the sort of user following a supermodel, I'm just guessing here and stereotyping, aren't really gonna be that interesting / active anyway.
I honestly think a mention of nostr on a niche small community gaming podcast with an audience outside of b!tcoin twitter is more impactful than those Instagram posts.
