yes! however, i think we need to remember, that *all* great systems are based on a good protocol. now the word *protocol* is trending, but a few hundred years ago it was *constitution*.

while in old times, people were the analog nodes running on the protocol/constitution. yes, also quite vulnerable, but like-minded people can move forward. they also kept the constitution relatively simple and followed the procedures relatively strictly. this enabled the rise of great societies and powers. but as described in 'the fourth turning', all procedures/constitutions erode through generations. remember, the constitution was also not updated or simplified (e.g. a fixed % distribution of the government spending based on, e.g., GDP).

now with the emerging idea of *protocols* and the mindset to apply it to different fields (nostr, bitcoin, [hopefully governmental procedures soon too]), as well as to merge it to the digital/mathematical/PoW realm, we have the incredible chance to smooth the generational turnings. this means that we have the potential to move forward faster - keeping the momentum (not "2 steps forward and 1 step back").
