So solely as a value store? As in, the same could be said for hoarding gold or any other real asset with limited availability?

Gold doesn't give you purchasing power like bitcoin. Gold bars are heavy and i would have to go to a location to sell gold. Real estate i cant take it with me. Cars suck. Art i would need to find someone that i can burn for the painting. Nothing beats bitcoin in any aspect. Nothing beats bitcoin

Sure, but when all the electrical and communications infrastructure is knocked out you won't really have much Bitcoin to trade with.

It has already happened many times in various parts of the US from spans ranging from a few hours to a few days. I also don't deal in absolutes because they're inherently inaccurate.
