I’m struggling with your rationale that filters have worked for the last two years. You believe this to be true as evidenced by scammers/spammers not using OP Return but instead had to find other more harmful ways and still doing the transactions anyways. This screams to me the exact opposite of the filters working. What am I missing?

It doesn’t sound like you are missing anything. I would just like to add…

The “Core” team is saying at the “Blockchain” level the filters DON’T work.

The “Ocean team is saying at the “Node” level the filters DO work.

The Core team knows this, but in my opinion they are being disingenuous and intentionally trying to mislead people so that they can accomplish their goal.

On my nodes… the settings are respected. So the filters work on my node and everyone else’s that decide to run Knots.

1 node does not decide what ends up in a block. The node just filters for the transactions that I want to see then only tells the rest of the network about the “GOOD” transactions it sees.
