no disrespect to the evangelicals but it's nice not either being screamed at for three hours straight or talked to like we are in therapy.

the music at Catholic mass is also fantastic. that's the way it should be.

imo, evangelicals should have never rejected the pipe organ and operatic hymns in exchange for CCM pop songs that sound exactly the same; additionally, the evangelical aversion to regalia and iconography, ornate cathedrals and such, is strange to me.

why are there international flags at church and not images of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the disciples?

obviously this is a choice – and to each their own – but evangelicals appear to be the IKEA demographic of Christians.

the real problem is just how aggressively angry they get about the mere mentioning of the Virgin Mary at Catholic mass, or at any doctrinal disagreement they deem to be heretical.

no, Catholics are not "worshipping" Mary, they are venerating her. she deserves to be venerated. this, imo, sets the right precedent for the veneration of motherhood, which the evangelicals sorely lack in their disrespect of her sacrifice in giving birth to our Lord and Savior and remaining by his side until his ascension.

then again, this is the denomination that will fully reject their own children for any reason, including their conversion to Catholicism, which they see as "backsliding".

yes, I do have a great appreciation for the rich histories of both Catholicism and the Orthodoxy, which predate evangelicalism by at least 1900 years.

Christian history is awesome, actually.
