Yes it is. Made in 1997 and brings back a lot of good memories. Such as the water gun pictured here. But be forewarned, it is 10 seasons with 20ish episodes per season. So you need to get ready to spend some time on it.

Then you’ll enjoy it. Watch the stargate movie first. Because the tv show was made after that and is based on the movie. God speed.

there are 2 later stargate films that are in line with the tv series in addition to the original film

once you guys finish SG and SGA, take a look at Farscape. it's a hidden gem with a fantastic story arc. all the characters are flawed and wonderful and the makeup, costuming, sets, etc. stray far away from the usual neo-scifi tropes and overuse of CGI.
