To be fair, my first and last thinkpad that I bought for my own money - x201i - was probably the suckiest laptop I have ever had. For one, it had paid drivers. The modem driver specifically was capped at 14400bps unless I were to pay money to Connexant to unlock it. I never used it, because it was almost mid 2010s and who the fuck would use a modem at that day and age. But still, the very notion of paid drivers is something I think people should be poured molten led into their urethras for.
