Why does there seem to be unanimous agreement that 2024 is going to be a total shitshow? I'm not sure I've experienced this before lol.

Does everyone always say this for election years? 🤔

since 2021, this is my experience and it's true wrt macro things lol

Do you mean every year from 2021 everyone says the following year will be a total shitshow that will outdo the previous year?

It seems like 2024 has been the most anticipated shitshow in shitshow talkers lol

yes, that's the sentiment

but 20/21/22 was the peak for me personally

let's say 21

lol

Responding so u don't respond to ureself a 4th time. Yw fren

So you're actually expecting 2024 to be less of a shitshow? 👀 (But still a shitshow obviously)

Largest election year in US history (largest number of elections to have taken place in a single election year)

Likelihood of global cyber attack on banks and critical infrastructure followed by a digital Patriot Act, digital IDs and CBDCs

Ratification of WHO pandemic treaty

I wasn't aware of the digital patriot act, I have a feeling it's similar to what we're getting in the UK tho 🤔

I have no specific source for this, but that is often how this works. There is a draconian bill waiting in the wings of a large crisis that can be easily pushed through when everyone is panicking.

There have been voices calling for more internet regulation and surveillance for years, as well as the elimination of online anonimity, the elimination of cash and financial privacy, efforts at CBDCs, calls for Digital IDs, use of biometrics to verify human from bot/AI, and so on.
