This is going this way since 2020. Now it’s internationally recognised. But even in 2016, the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered a magazine to cancel a week publication because there’s a denouncing saying Dias Toffoli used to earn 100k BRL as “alimony”, paid by his wife’s company. He’s a Supreme Court justice and his wife is a lawyer. Another guy, Gilmar Mendes, is a cattle farmer as well. And he sells cattle to JBS. And he, guess what, didn’t feel himself with conflict of interest when JBS owners were judged by the Supreme Court. Another guy, Lewandovsky, current minister of justice, used to have a hobby when he was a Supreme Court justice : let extremely criminal leave prison, with habeas corpus or even cancelling judgment in lower instances. That’s nice to see what’s going to happen in the near future.
