Wow. I just read the other 35 comments answering Lyn’s question. In a nut shell, this “freedom tech” focused cohort (Nostr) agrees with nearly perfect homogeneity that in 20 years we will live in a dystopian world of monetary and communication centralisation.

🤯😢

Why would they even bother with Bitcoin, I wonder outloud? 🤨

Is BTC even decentralized if it’s 100% transaction traceable?

If it hasn’t dismantled the control apparatus of “the state” then no, it won’t be truly decentralised and it will fail even as a SoV. Let alone, MoE.

The 2 systems are diametrically opposed. One MUST outcompete the other out of existence.

It just shocks me that so many here view these centralising forces as permanent/immutable.

Completely antithetical to the “we are winning” meme.

Yes. Decentralized, secure, uncensorable, and private are all unique traits. Bitcoin on the main layer is optimized for the 1st three without concern for private. Privacy can be implemented on higher layers.

Higher layers don’t currently exist.

Yet your nostr wallet accepted my zap on the lightning network, it settled instantly ,and there is no way you can show me the transaction in an on chain block explorer. Weird.

Cool. How much are you holding in your WoS?

Your smarmy exception isn’t the rule.

I’m in the bitcoin massively removes bad incentives and government becomes more responsive to the people it serves in the next 20yrs.
